Northumbria University is running a four-day training event (20th-23rd of May) in Newcastle, UK. This event will explore strategies and techniques to engage and work with communities to co-create, deploy, and evaluate civic technologies that seek to empower citizens in service provision and civic participation.
Established in 2018, the annual Digital Civics Exchange involves students from around the world visiting Newcastle and working with local researchers and partners to undertake mini-research projects focused on societal challenges and citizen empowerment through the design of civic technologies.
Additionally, this May, academics, students, businesses, and people from local communities will come together for a series of events, including research talks, panels, and workshops from leading researchers working in this field.
Registration is FREE but mandatory through this form. Attendees must register by 30th April 2025 as places are limited. This includes lunches and coffee breaks. Travel and accommodation are not included.
